Poco M2 Pro – Specifications and Review

Poco has launched their new budget smartphone Poco M2 Pro in India and it will be available on Flipkart from 14th July 2020. Price of Poco M2 Pro starts at 13,999 Rs for it’s base variant with 4GB Ram and 64 GB Internal storage.
We are going to give a detailed overview of Poco M2 Pro and will share our opinion at the end of this article to know whether it is worth Rs 13,999 or not.

Design and Display

It has got a 6.67 Inch Full HD +IPS LCD Display with standard 60hz refresh rate unlike the Poco X2 which offers a similar display with higher 120 hz refresh rate.
Display of Poco M2 Pro has the Gorilla Glass 5 protection for both front and back glasses.
We found it to be a good display but it would have been better if it was having an AMOLED panel which produces more punchy and vibrant colors.

Processor and Performance

Poco M2 pro ships with Snapdragon 720G chipset. same as Redmi Note 9 Pro which is good enough to perform day to day tasks and handles the multitasking smoothly.

Poco M2 Pro comes with 3 variants (4GB + 64GB), (6GB + 64GB) and (6GB + 128GB). Price of the top specs variant is 16,999 Rs which is almost similar to the base variant of Poco X2.

Poco M2 Pro comes with a Quad camera setup at the back. Main sensor is 48MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, Second camera is 8MP Ultrawide snapper with 119 degree field of view, other 2 sensor are 5MP Macro camera with autofocus and 2MP depth sensor.

Main camera is capable of recording 4k Videos at 30fps and can also record 720p@960fps slow motion footage.

Poco M2 Pro has a 16 MP, f/2.5 Selfie camera in the punch hole cutout. It can record up to 1080p@30 videos.

On Paper the specs seems good but some other phone in the segment consists better equipped camera with 64 MP main shooter.

Battery and Peroformance

Poco M2 Pro has got a large 5000 mah battery which can easily last upto one and half days for a normal user.
It ships with 33W fast charger out of the box which is the best in it’s segment.

Poco M2 pro seems to be a good device at this price point with snapdragon 720G chipset but Poco should have offered 6GB RAM in it’s base variant. If we go for the higher 6GB variants then the price is almost similar to the Poco X2 or Redmi Note 9 pro Max which have got the better specs as Poco X2 delivers better performance, consists higher refresh rate display and better cameras.
Overall, Poco M2 Pro is a device which will compete with Redmi Note 9 pro which offers almost similar specification at the almost similar price.
